I recently created stop motion short with Colleen Mckeown of We Ain’t Friends! It took us forever, and we are both now partially insane. But you can watch it here! It’s also live at flood.aintfriends.com! Here is the synopsis…
“After a flood has covered her hometown, a young girl makes it her nightly routine to row out into the night in search of signs of her companion. The unusual friends share broken conversations through notes in bottles.”
And here is a quick description of what it is…
“The Flood of 1924″ is a heavily stylized ‘paper’ animation. Colleen Mckeown is an incredibly talented artist who has hand cut, painted and animated every part of the film. Christopher Postill works as a sound designer & multimedia artist, and has created a moody, quirky and dark sound scape for the film. The hand-made care put into this two and a half minute short film is so evident that you instantly feel its whimsical, yet meaningful atmosphere as you follow its protagonist in her search. The project was crowd-funded on IndieGoGo.com .
In addition to the short animation itself, I wrote and recorded a dark, minimal soundtrack to support the film. You can stream it live or download it by paying what you can. Here’s what one of our bloggers friends had to say about it…

Listening to this EP feels like listening to a journal; dark, epic and a little lonely, albeit lonely with a wide-eyed protagonist.
